Weekend SUCCESS!!

The Scrapbook retreat was awesome. Once again, the ladies did an absolutely WONDERFUL job and spoiled us all rotten, lol. Jen and I were booked solid the whole 5 hours we were there! We are already in the works of retreat number 3 which will be happening in April or May at an unknown location. I can't wait!!

I ended Saturday night, completely exhausted with the hubby and passed out soundly and slept for a good eight hours... woke up Sunday morning and decided I wanted to make dinner for the fam, so I called the in-laws and outlaws (my parents, hehe) and started cooking. Six hours later we had a marvelous display of different Thai dishes which all turned out perfect. Needless to say, I slept soundly again last night...

Today I start training on a new program for one of my Virtual Assistant clients!! How exciting. All in all it has been a very successful weekend!! And an excellent start to the new week.

This afternoon I will be setting my client up in Simply, then I will be working on creating some new jewelry displays that I can bring on the road with me. Wish me luck!!

OH the weather outside is frightful..

Ya, it is hella cold outside today. I am sitting here freezing my tail off, but trying not to think of my poor hubby working in Niagara Falls 30 stories up the new Hilton with no walls... I bought him some long johns today, poor baby. I have no idea how these people work outside in this!! I feel a stiff draft and I am dying!

Well, onto what I was actually intending to write about :)

Tomorrow is my second retreat to sugar some silly scrapbookkers and promote my jewelry!! My friend Jen and I are heading to Walton Memorial Church in Oakville (on Bronte, in case there are any scrappies out there that are interested in swinging by) I believe the class is about $80 for the day and it includes breakfast, lunch AND dinner!! The last one we went to had TONS, and I mean TONS of prizes, giveaways and contests and I can only imagine that they will be working on an equally superb show this time around. Did I mention that there will be a special guest there?? Her name is Kama Lee Jackson and she is a creative writer extraordinaire! Have I peaked your interest yet??

If you are interested in attending or just getting more information on future retreats, email Janette at Janette@thekitcompany.com and tell her Sheena sent you ;)

This is our second retreat with these ladies and I am sooo stoked to be part of it again. These crazy ladies with their suitcase full of scrapbookking supplies are awesome!! I swear, some of these ladies have more scrapbook supplies than I have clothes!! Insane! I actually made my own, very first scrapbook not long after the first retreat back in November. Mind you, I totally cheated, lol, I bought a scrapbook kit, so I am not sure if that really counts...but I made one none-the-less and it turned out amazing!! I sent it out west to my Daddy for Christmas and he loved it!!

Anyways, the retreat is being put on by two lovely ladies named Janette and Jackie. Janette owns The Kit Company and runs these retreats about twice a year. We are hoping that this will be making regular appearances at these events, so if you are interested in meeting us in person, you should check one out.

I am working on some new pieces to bring out tomorrow... Very excited, but I probably should get started, I only have 22 hours until we leave.

Chow for now!

New Additions to the Shops

Well, I just tried adding a little mini shop to this blog, but apparently I am a little techno-dumb and can't figure it out. So, I am just going to add pictures!

This is Rosalie. My beauty that was inspired by wine country (which is where I happen to be nestled) Tons of Aventurine chips snuggly wrapped with fine copper wire along an antique copper chain link bracelet and finished with three swarovski crystals as the centre focal point.

This is Mia. My foolow up to Rosalie because I really loved the finished product. Same as Rosalie, but Mia has tons of Amethyst chips wrapped snuggly with a fine copper wire along an antique copper chain link bracelet with a medium sized Amethyst nugget as the centre focal point.

This is Aphrodite. My favourite. I just LOVE working with Turquoise. Turquoise ovals, Black Agate rounds, and Swarovski crystal are what comprises this beautiful piece. All secured with antique copper and finished with a beautiful flower toggle clasp.

Ok, that's all my self promotion for today :) These items can be found on either my Etsy shop or my Artfire shop.

And so the blogging begins....

Well, seeing as this is supposed to be soooo popular and helpful when working on building up your home-based online business, I thought it was about time I stepped out from under the rock and put my blogging skills (or lack there of) to work!!

Seeing as this is my first "official" blog posting, allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Sheena and I am SugarBrig Practitioner (I can go into details in another post... no need to dish all the juicy details in the first one!!) and a Jewelry Designer. I have recently set up my own website (slip in self promotion here..) at www.Aphrodite-and-Adonis.com to highlight and showcase some of my work. The website goes into great detail as to who I really am and what I really do... Basically it is my portal to referring people to my Etsy Shop which is located here: Sheena's Etsy Shop ;)

All in all, really all I am hoping for is to meet some really cool people who share the same interests as me. So far I have met TONS. I am working on networking with various artists, designers, suppliers, etc. There is so much inspiration out there just waiting to be discovered.

Ok, I really have to step away from the brainbox and onto the treadmill, so I must be going...

Much love for now my fellow followers (I know, I know I don't have any yet, but you just wait ;))
